{"id":219,"date":"2009-10-22T17:54:17","date_gmt":"2009-10-22T21:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aikidocenterofjacksonville.com\/blog\/?p=219"},"modified":"2009-10-22T18:09:36","modified_gmt":"2009-10-22T22:09:36","slug":"more-tenchi-nage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aikidocenterofjacksonville.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/more-tenchi-nage\/","title":{"rendered":"More Tenchi-Nage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A quick post, to follow my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aikidocenterofjacksonville.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/tenchi-nage-or-how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-trust-my-sensei\/\">Strangelove ramblings<\/a>.*<\/p>\n<p>This is what I mean when I see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=z2uoNeqxjZY\">tenchi-nage<\/a> executed (extremely) well.\u00a0 Waite Sensei also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zplkXB0hww8\">demonstrates the technique<\/a>, at the 2007 USAF Summer Camp.<\/p>\n<p>That initial kokyu motion is key.\u00a0 A decent analogy, I think, would be a sword draw and &#8220;do&#8221; cut to uke&#8217;s midsection.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I taught the technique last night, as best as I could, in our beginners&#8217; class.\u00a0 I think Ryan and Kevin were a bit\u00a0nonplussed\u00a0after I threw them&#8211;the ukemi is a lot more active, and practically demands breakfall if good connection is kept.<\/p>\n<p>Honestly, those videos of Hagihara and Waite Sensei answer a lot of questions I&#8217;ve had about the technique, particularly with regards to kuzushi.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">* Did <em>anyone<\/em> catch the allusions?
